By registering and attending the International Conference for Deaf Muslims (ICDM) to be held from 28 November to 2nd December 2022 at The Paradise Suite Hotel in The Gambia, each participant acknowledges and agrees to the following terms and conditions as the criteria of being accepted to attend the conference. Take note of the Information Below.
All participants are solely responsible for any financial, physical, or legal liability that they may incur before, during, or after their participation in ICDM.
Participants agree to assume all incurred costs, including, but not limited to, transportation, flights, and hotel stay. Global Deaf Muslim Federation (GDMF), and Association of Deaf Muslims of Gambia and all other conference organizers and sponsors are fully released from any financial, physical, or legal liabilities that participants may incur as a result of their participation with the conference.
All individuals wishing to attend ICDM must be completely registered, having provided all required information, and paid in full before entering the conference venue. You may register on behalf of others however you are deemed to be liable for the participants you register. There will be no on-site registration. The last day to register for the conference will be 20 November 2022.
Participants should advise of any special access requirements (i.e. wheelchair access, materials in braille, etc.) at the time of registration.
It is the responsibility of all participants to arrange appropriate insurance coverage (e.g. health insurance, travel insurance, etc.) as they deem necessary
during their participation in the conference. ICDM, its organizers, and its sponsors will not assume responsibility for any loss, stolen, or damaged property. Additionally, ICDM, its organizers, and its sponsors do not assume responsibility for any medical expenses for participants. Please ensure that you have adequate insurance to cover health and travel for this period. Your insurance should also cover your inability to travel as ICDM will not be liable in the event that you have paid for travel that you are unable to take.
All participants will follow instructions given by conference staff and organizers. Participants will conduct themselves in a manner that is conducive to the conference as well as in accordance with Islamic etiquette. Participants will limit social interaction to designated times during the conference, providing
their full attention during workshops and lectures. Participants are NOT to act as representatives of ICDM when interacting with outside entities (i.e. hotel staff, government officials, etc.). Additionally, participants agree to follow all hotel policies at their respective hotels, including respecting the maximum number of occupants allowed per hotel room.
All participants must be a minimum of 18 years of age to attend the conference. Children under the age of 18 are NOT permitted in the conference venue while the conference is in session. It is the parent’s responsibility to provide adequate child care before the conference commences. Anybody violating this policy will be asked to leave the session. Children are permitted to attend during meals and refreshment times only.
Participants will not sell or distribute any flyers or other materials unless explicit approval is provided by conference organizers, prior to distribution. Views expressed by speakers and exhibitors are their own. ICDM cannot accept liability for advice given, or views expressed, by any presenter/exhibitor at
the conference or in any material provided to participants.
It is the responsibility of each participant to obtain an entry visa (if required) for Indonesia. After registration, ICDM organizers will provide you a formal letter of invitation to participate no later than 30 September 2022 (unless you registered later than this date). This letter can be utilized as a supporting
document during the visa application process. All participants must abide by Gambian immigration law, strictly following the terms of their visa.
In the event of a dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms or any contact between the ICDM conference organizers and the participant, then the participant agrees to attempt to settle the dispute by engaging in good faith with conference organizers in a process of mediation before commencing arbitration or litigation.
If any of these terms is at any time held by any jurisdiction to be void, invalid, or unenforceable, then it shall be treated as changed or reduced, only to the extent minimally necessary to bring it within the laws of that jurisdiction and to prevent it from being void and it shall be bind in that changed or reduced form.
The 4th International Conference of Deaf Muslims maintains the right to remove, add, or modify the Terms and Conditions as set out with or without notice. If you require clarification of these terms or have any concerns, contact@globaldeafmuslim.org.
